Sodium aurothiomalate (gold sodium thiomalate) is a gold compound with the chemical formula C4H4AuNaO4S and is used for its antirheumatic effects to treat rheumatoid arthritis. In the United Kingdom only the intramuscular injection drug Myocrisin (which contains a mixture of sodium aurothiomalate and disodium aurothiomalate) and the orally taken Auranofin are used medically.
